New MYFC Podcast Show No. 20

I’ve got a special edition of the podcast for you. Yesterday I spoke to Steve Jarvis the programme editor for Droylsden FC, the team we’ll be playing Saturday in the next round of the FA Trophy. Steve was kind enough to give me a few minutes to talk about his team. We talk a little about their style of play and the history of the club. I have a senior moment and forget that Ebbsfleet played Droylsden back in 2007-2008 season. Steve recounts the 2008-2009 FA Cup saga against Chesterfield. Another senior moment for me, since it was all over the Non League show. A bit about this years match against Leyton Orient. We end with a little tour of the surrounding area. If you’re traveling up tomorrow, don’t forget the King’s Head Pub.

New MYFC Podcast Show No. 18

On this edition of the podcast Charles and I talk about the 2-1 win against Dartford. The Fleet just keep rolling on, and this time, 2-1 was really a kind score. Charles makes the point that we’ve also found our penalty taker. Just one more weapon in our arsenal. There’s an open call by Charles to run the numbers on penalties given to opposing teams at home this year. Another aspect of a team playing well is that the opposing team gets more penalties. Whether it’s frustration or bad play, the Fleet has benefited all year.
We talk a little about the upcoming game against Lewes and then the turnaround to play Braintree. I get excited about the Town of Lewes. Medieval towns do that for me. I find out how old Charles really is and I inadvertently put him in a tight spot where he has to mention a Tottenham rival. That’s right, Charles talks about this show’s Fleet Legend, Jimmy Logie. Possibly the best player to don the shirt. We end our talk with Charles wishing everyone a happy new year. I then go through some of the latest news on the MYFC website. At this time there are 2 live votes. They’ll end on January 5th. I talk about the Christmas Pledge and the all important commercial meeting to discuss new finance ideas and a plan for the rest of the year. That will also take place January 5th.
